1. What is DNM Cosmetics?
DNM Divine Natural Mineral Cosmetics is an Australian mineral cosmetics brand that has been created from the very finest quality minerals sourced from our land. All DNM Cosmetics products are completely pure, natural and organic, containing no harsh chemicals, fillers, talc, bismuth oxychloride, parabens, preservatives or fragrances. DNM Cosmetics is 100% certified cruelty free and one of the very few certified vegan makeup brands currently on the market.

2. When did DNM Cosmetics arrive on the market?
DNM Cosmetics began selling products nationally in early 2008.

3. What is mineral makeup?
Mineral makeup is formulated from natural minerals (fine miniature rock crystals) taken from Mother Earth that has been pulped and crushed into fine powdered pigments. Mineral makeup products have been formulated without any chemical dyes, fragrances or preservatives which are the most common allergens in cosmetics, nor does it contain any fillers or binders such as talc or mineral oil. Mineral makeup has actually been around for over 30 years, however with the ever increasing emphasis on being green and using natural, organic ingredients has made it the biggest current beauty trend to hit the market.

4. What are the key natural/organic ingredients used in DNM Cosmetics?
The main ingredient used in DNM Cosmetics is natural minerals, pulped and milled into fine powdered form. Some other ingredients we use are Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Micas, Certified Organic Shea Butter, Certified Organic Jojoba Oil, Certified Organic Grapefruit Seed Extract just to name a few. To offer the best possible product we use Z-Cote Zinc in our Mineral Foundations. Z-Cote is a high grade of Zinc Oxide and is the best ingredient to offer skin care and sun protection, that’s why we have a Certified SPF20+ on our Mineral Powder Foundations. FD&C colours can sometimes be used to change the pigment of Mica, DNM Cosmetics DO NOT use any Micas that have been coated or mixed with FD&C colours

5. What makes DNM Cosmetics different to other mineral cosmetics companies?
Unfortunately not all mineral cosmetics are created equally and sometimes what is labelled ‘mineral cosmetics’ does not always mean completely natural and pure. Some big mineral cosmetics brands add ingredients to their products that DNM Cosmetics would never use. Often fillers are used in certain ‘mineral’ products which dilute the pigments making it cheaper to produce, but will not create the depth and the density of colour that you get with DNM Cosmetics. We also choose not to use Bismuth Oxychloride, Talc or Parabens in any of our products as they can cause skin irritations.

At DNM Cosmetics we strive to consistently produce products that are pure, ethical and healthy for the skin and the environment. Our makeup sets us apart from other cosmetics brands due to the purity of the ingredients we use. All DNM Cosmetics products are FREE from Ferric Ferrocyanide, Animal products, artificial dyes, FD&C colours, Talc, Carmine (also known as Cochineal), Bismuth Oxychloride, Mineral Oil and Paraben preservatives.

6. Who is DNM Cosmetics suitable for?
DNM Cosmetics is for every woman who cares about their skin and wants to look flawlessly natural and gorgeous! But not only that, DNM Cosmetics is suitable for:
  • People with acne or scarring
  • People with rosacea
  • People with allergies or chemical sensitivities
  • People who have undergone recent facial procedures
  • ALL skin types

7. Why are mineral makeup products okay to use after facial procedures and cosmetic surgery?
Mineral makeup is the only type of cosmetics recommended for use after any facial procedure as it is extremely gentle on the skin and has soothing, anti-inflammatory properties and will hide any redness.

8. Why do you not use Talc in your cosmetics? What is so bad about Talc?
Talc is a mineral which is produced by the mining of talc rocks. Through the processing of the talc rocks it eliminates a number of trace minerals but does not separate the minute fibres which are very similar to asbestos. Talc itself is toxic and a known carcinogen.

9. What is Bismuth Oxychloride? Why is it used in some mineral make up brands and not DNM Cosmetics?
Bismuth Oxychloride is a by product of refined lead and copper. Many mineral makeup brands use this in their products because it gives a luminosity and sheen and is a cheap filler. Often the inclusion of bismuth oxychloride in mineral cosmetics leads to skin irritation in some women. Many people, including sufferers of acne and rosacea will find that using products containing this ingredient will irritate the skin.

10.What are Parabens and why don’t DNM Cosmetics use them?
Parabens are preservatives which are commonly used in many products such as soap, shampoo, deodorant and makeup. We do not to use any parabens in any of our products as there is accumulating evidence questioning their safety. Although a link to the development of cancer is unproven, traces of parabens have been found in some breast tumour samples. The potential is sufficient enough for DNM Cosmetics to choose not to use parabens.
